History

The Freiburger Bund network was born from the personal experience of our founder, Prof. Dr. Nabeel Farhan. A specialist in neurosurgery, Nabeel Farhan came to Germany from Mecca at the age of 17 to study medicine. Throughout his journey from medical school and doctoral studies to specialist training and a professorship, he encountered the many challenges that international healthcare professionals face when integrating socially and professionally in Germany.

At that time, there were hardly any structured support systems to assist foreign healthcare professionals in navigating these challenges. To fill this gap, Nabeel Farhan founded the FIA Academy, an institution dedicated to helping international doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and nurses obtain professional recognition in Germany through personal guidance, mentoring, and specialized language training.

Through close interaction with the many participants of the academy’s programs, it became clear that a strong professional network was essential for newly arrived professionals to successfully settle in Germany and build a new home.

This realization led to the idea of establishing a nationwide network, where experienced international healthcare professionals who have already integrated into the German system support newcomers with valuable advice and assistance.

Now, this vision is becoming a reality with the official launch of Freiburger Bund. Our mission is to break down barriers to professional and social integration and to build a supportive community that helps each other thrive.

Join Freiburger Bund and help us create a future where international professionals in Germany can reach their full potential. Together, we achieve more!
